About the Central Kentucky Energy Project
-
Kentucky’s energy landscape is evolving, creating new opportunities for communities, businesses, and residents to learn about energy conservation, efficiency, cleaner energy technologies, workforce development, and available resources. In 2025, Bluegrass Greensource received funding from the Kentucky Office of Energy Policy to develop this website as a central hub for information, educational resources, and community engagement opportunities focused on energy across the Commonwealth.
This website supports the Regional Energy Forums Project, a three-year initiative designed to increase energy conservation and efficiencies, lower monthly energy utility bills, increase access to cleaner transportation and energy resources, and promote career training and energy economic development and employment opportunities. Ultimately, we hope to establish a systematic Energy Forums program which can be replicated by other regions.
-
Increasing energy conservation and energy efficiency practices.
Helping households and organizations lower monthly utility costs.
Expanding awareness of cleaner transportation and energy options.
Improving access to energy resources for underserved communities.

Through education, collaboration, and resource sharing, the program aims to strengthen local communities while supporting Kentucky’s long-term energy future.
-
Kentucky’s energy future depends on informed communities, strong partnerships, and access to reliable resources.
As the Regional Energy Forums Project progresses, Bluegrass Greensource will continue to expand educational opportunities, strengthen community engagement, and connect residents and local leaders with tools and resources that support energy resilience and economic growth.
This program aims to move Kentucky forward toward a future that is more energy-efficient, economically competitive, and prepared to meet the needs of generations to come.
